My daughter (18yo) took her car to Kwik Kar mansfield location off of Broad street 2/18/23 for an oil changed. She was charged $142.37 for an oil change!

I work a lot so I had her go there hoping they would take good care of her vehicle. Bc my family had used them before. Not knowing until she started having issues with her car that the oil was low. I checked it and noticed it was extremely low.

I immediately had her park and not drive it. Then drove my vehicle to buy oil for the car. Filled to its proper level. Then took the car back to kwik kar.

As soon as we pulled up and I stepped out of the car with receipts in hand. The manager approached me asking how he could help me. I explained the situation about how she had been driving the car without oil unknowingly and this was right after she had the oil change done on the car. He apologized and took the car back and did an inspection acknowledging that it was their mistake and they was going to fix it.

It was leaking from drain plug from what he told me. At this point there was no need to be concerned. I asked him (manager) if it was fixed. He says yes we got it Fixed.

I said so no more leaking. He said again it was fixed NO Leaking. So we left and the car seemed fine. A couple weeks later she is driving home from work which is only 9miles away.

The car broke down, we had to have it towed home. At first we thought it was the key fob bc it was missing the chip. So we replaced that. And Had to get it programmed.

Which was another issue bc the car would not start, so it could not be programmed. So I was told it needed an Ecm. Bought a new one. Had to take it to the dealership bc I was told they have to program it.

Which is where I was told the motor was seized from lack of oil. The estimated repair is 10k at the dealer!! I Just bought this car is in October and was fixing all the lil things so shed have a reliable car for college. When I purchased it only had 165k miles on it.

She barely got to drive it due to needing it to pass inspection for CAT. Converter. Then it broke down due to the mistake made by whoever the employee was at this location. Which Has already assumed responsibility when they took it back to redo the oil change.

Now they (manager) are saying they are not liable for the damages. They are not wanting to fix what damages they caused. Their Reason was due to the vehicle being driven more than 12k miles. The vehicle has 167k on it as it sits.

It was at another establishment I wont name here, two weeks after looking for estimate on the CATs and odometer read 165k. This was in March 23 I have receipts to prove. But some how they put on my daughters receipt that the odometer reads 157,252 to be exact on 2/18/23 at Kwik Kar Mansfield location. I have proof the odometer reading inputted on my daughters receipt is incorrect.

Ive called the corporate office number multiple times and no answer. Left messages as well. And no call back. No one has reached out to me to even find out what is going on.

I went to the location and I was told by a supervisor , not even the manager that originally told me it was there fault and redone the oil change after the damage was already done. unfortunately they are not liable bc the since oil change was done 12k miles before. Which is false bc it was not driven and was broke down in front of my home for atleast 2 almost three months. And its been the the clay cooley Nissan dealership for the last 3months.

Now the dealership is threatening to charge storage fees as well. This is a nightmare!

I cant believe Kwik Kar prey upon my young daughter overcharging and ultimately destroying her car! She is now in college her vehicle has been down since March!!

Charged for things I didn't ask for or agree to!

I took my truck in for an oil and filter change. Attendant mentioned dirty cabin filter and low coolant.

Also mentioned differential hadn't been changed in a while. NO mention of time or cost. An hour and a half later I was presented with a bill for 632!!! I was charged for radiator flush, brake fluids, coolant flushing, all kinds of things I didn't ask for or approve.

None of these things were even mentioned! As a matter of fact, he told me my brakes looked great. I explained that the truck was completely overhauled 6 months ago, and all it needed was oil and filter change; go ahead and change out dirty cabin filter and top off the antifreeze. Asked for manager and all I got was the attendant who was very hostile and told me he had mentioned these things needed to be done and I agreed.

I agreed to no such thing AND my 30 year old son was a witness to when attendant mentioned the above couple of things. He finally took 25 off the bill, but that was it. I ended up having to put the bill on my credit card so I could get my truck back. I've been going there for 4 years now, and have never had this problem.

This new attendant was looking to make money and hold my truck hostage! Corporate doesn't answer. No one cares!

It's infuriating!!! I want my money back!!!

On December 11, I dropped off my vehicle for servicing (via Triple A) due to a possible coolant leak. When I picked up my vehicle on the 12th, I was informed by the manager that they ran the pressure test and everything was in order.

The charge was $280.57. I drove the truck for a few days only to discover the truck was still leaking. I had to contact Triple A again to tow my truck neck to Kwik Kar. They kept my truck for two days (which cost me two days work) when I went to pick up the truck on December 21, the manager informed me everything was fixed.

I picked up the truck and headed home for the holidays.

Two and a half hrs into my drive home, my truck started overheating on the freeway. Once again, I had to contact Triple A and they towed the truck to my home in Baytown.

Staff having no knowledge of Auto Inspection Procedures

Took my car in for Oil Change and Inspection. Staff did not know how to check Parking Brake on car with Manual Transmission. One guy was riding the Clutch while over revving the Engine. One lady was telling him to rev it even more. The car moved a couple of inches and they failed it. I told them if you rev the engine so high while riding the clutch you will get the rear wheels to at least move a bit! The smell of burning Clutch Components should alert them to stop but these two were too stupid to realize they would damage my car.Will pass the word on to people to not go here!

Deceptive, untruthful business

The following is a message I sent to the local Kwik Kar 8/7/23 about their service. This is the first and last time I will walk through their doors.

I wanted to pass along my disappointment with your oil change service.

At check in I told the lady what oil I wanted in my car. I also provided a quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer to add to the oil change. I was charged for a full capacity change even though I provided one quart myself.

When I paid for the service it noted that another weight of oil had been used, and it was full synthetic. I didn't ask for full synthetic and didn't get the weight oil I asked for.

When I brought this to your attention the person told me that this is what "was called for". I am the customer and ought to get what I asked for, not disregarded like I don't know what I am talking about.

The receipt also said the windshield was washed; it was not. It showed that the carpets were vacuumed' they were not. It showed that the tire pressure was checked; they were not.

I know this because I was aware that the front right tire was five pounds below the others when I brought it in. It was the same when I left.

Now I have to question what else I was not being told the truth about. It states you checked the transmission fluid. Did you actually do it?

Do you know that there is no dipstick to do that on this vehicle?

How was that done?

I won't be using your service again and will pass along my experience to anyone I can. I don't believe I was told the truth and am not at all pleased to have oil in this car I didn't ask for.

Took vehicle in with a 24.99 coupon for regular oil change and the idiots put synthetic oil and air filter nothing was discussed with me. Had they gone in computer and seen my previous changes they would have known *** if they would have communicated with me or boyfriend first we wouldn't have had to pay 110 by time we left. Called corporate and they didn't give two *** either.DO NOT GO TO KWIK KAR ON TRINITY IN EULESS

Poor customer service

I took my car to the Pearland,TX location for state inspection. My car failed due to a computer upgrade.

Not only was I not informed but when I called to get more info I was hung up on. I then took my vehicle to the dealership to have the computer upgraded and I was told that the UDP was pulled out and damaged and because it had been damaged by another entity it was no longer covered by warranty. When I called the Kwik Kar the manager took no responsibility, said that it was absolutely not possible that they damaged it.

Took the 25 dollars for the state inspection and said good luck. DO NOT take your vehicle there.A state inspection has now cost me thousands of dollars because they damaged the piece.

No good customer service, what so ever, came to fix one problem and ending up with another, I got both problems, fixed with the car, put had to go through a lot of convenient to get it done, I feel that the store on Colorado Blvd in Denton, need to be retrained to do there main jobs and how to fix a car like it is to be done right.

On 3/8/2022 I went to Kwik Kar after work on 11613 Broadway in Pearland Texas to get a oil change. The young fluffy mechanic told me to come back tomorrow because they don't have a part for my BMW. I returned on 3/9 after work and I waited until they close and then they came out and said,' oh we don't have the part come on 3/10. I have tweeted and sending a letter. That's not how you should do people. I have been going to that location for 2 years and this new management sucks. They are costing you business. I went on twitter and other social media. People will know so they can stop this behavior. By the way, I am an Elected Official. I will go to Texas Legislatures about Kwik Kar Lube. I am Arnetta Murray amurray@***.gov

I had auto repairs done to my BMW by Kwik Kar. They were the only auto place that fixes foreign cars in my neighborhood.

They had done good work on my vehicle prior to this incident. The management has changed. This manager quoted me a price of $1,300.00 for all repairs. He wanted a retainer deposit because prior customers have had auto work done a wasn't able to pay for it.

That's understandable. I paid them $400.00 upfront before any work was done to my BMW. On 8/13/21. I gave them the $918.00 payment.

He gives me my invoice, listing all of the repairs done to my BMW. The next day, I'm back at their store because my vehicle is still leaking oil. I asked the manager. He told me that they didn't fix the oil leak.

They only fixed what's on the list. That's when I discovered they overcharged me $400.00. I gave them a copy of the invoice and a copy of my credit card invoice stating when and how much I paid them. They have been giving me the run-around ever since.

I just discovered that Kwik Kar's are individually owned and operated.
